Lady Justice

Baby Face Baugh and Sheriff Tom "Bookem" Bosenko on the steps of the old Shasta County Jail...Baby Face is up on charges of talking too much, could mean life.

Bookem has his eye on another potential jailbird... a respected member of the press but arch-enemy Silas Lyons (will be charged for false reporting)

Lady Justice watches the injustice that is happening. Judge Dagg (known as the hanging judge) is waiting to see how much $$ Prisoner Lyons can come up with for bail...he had to borrow :-(

Mr Lyon's had his tour guide as a personal reference. Her name is Candy Balma, She has a lot of clout with the court because she is the daughter of former Sheriff John Balma...he was the longest elected sheriff in the history of the county. You can see his picture and a couple of his famous hats in the pic below!

Silas was booked and given a long number as his new name. The Bank Robber was still armed (somehow that was missed in his pat down?)
while he was being booked. The Trustee...(it was pointed out that this was a misnome)...who trusts a prisoner?) was in charge of the evenings bookings!
Dinner was served to all prisoners by the Crystal Creek Boys and entertainment was provided by Lew White and the Jailbirds!!!
So many people were booked through Shasta County Jail that they wore holes in the linoleum in front of the window!
This was all fun in the name of Lady Justice...she has been so vandalized that she needs a repair job. Her sword has been stolen, her scales are gone, somebody broke off her fingers and then beat her backside in...poor thing looks so bad that she has been hiding in the jail for quite a few years now. It is hoped that with some fundraisers and public knowledge she can be restored to her former glory and put back on display in front of the new courthouse when it is built in Anderson!!!
Right, Baby Face?!!!

Lady Liberty on the front lawn of the courthouse is one of the earliest recollections I have. If that isn't weird I don't know what is.

Looks like you had fun. Good post
