A good Friday the 13th

I have always enjoyed the 13th when it is on a Friday ! Today was a good day of scrapbooking with my cuz & dinner & a play with my BFF+ hubbies !!!
Charlie Brown was very popular when I was in 8th grade. I even got a C.B pillow case that year for my birthday! The play brought back many memories & Charlie hasn't aged at all... Unlike some of us !!! You Are A GOOD Man Charlie Brown!

Birthday Dinner!

We drove to Williams last night to have dinner with the Watson family. We celebrated our 10 year old granddaughter Lydia's birthday!
We met at Grandzella's and had a very yummy dinner (Lydia, Les & I shared a medium meat lovers pizza! Mmm.)
Lydia opened her gifts and when dinner was over we went to the Gelato shop inside Grandzella's and the kids & I had 3 flavored of gelato... Lemoncello, choc chip & cheesecake !!! We shared many bites and Lydia & Des even traded! Mmmmmmm!!!
We had a very enjoyable evening
Thanks for including us!!! Have a wonderful birthday sleepover Lydia!
We love you!

The 2012 Adventure!

2012 is going to be a wonderful adventure! There are so many things that will be happening, A Beautiful Wedding in April...State Senate Primary in June...My first political campaign...A trip with Riley & Melissa to Washington D.C. in September and then November will be the big election! All of this plus the day to day things that we do just to get to all of these adventures! I am looking forward to each day! I am going to attempt to get back to my blog more often just so that I can keep track of what we have been doing and so that my family and friends will know what I am doing!!! Figuring our how to attach photos will be one of my goals. I used to be able to do it but, I have lost the ability to do it easily! I look forward to blogging in 2012!

It's a wacky world!

Daisy has always acted more like a cat than a dog...now instead of having puppies she is mother to a kitten! This is Peaches and she thinks that Daisy is her Mommy...a picture is worth a thousand words! (And yes Daisy has milk!)

Life's twists & Turns

I am so sad...things at our house have changed drastically...I thought that this was going to be a very eventful summer and now it is going to just be...I don't know what.
Molly has gone back home to Sacramento, Daisy had a false pregnancy,no trips planned...
I know that God is in control, but sometimes you just have to ask WHY??????
I will do my best not to wallow in my sadness and really lean on Him for the comfort and answers that are needed. I will do what I can to be the best wife, mother, grandma, friend, etc that I can be...but I am so sad...
Our rocks will get moved for sure now! I have lots of extra time. We will have fewer weeds, I will spend more time in the church garden...I will spend time with different people....I will get through this.

What did you do today?

I had a very busy Wednesday! I got up at about 6:30...just because I was awake! I then leisurely prepared for my day! At 8am I was due to meet the April Clean Up crew at the corner of Knobcone & Lodgepole Avenue! We were given a safety meeting and issued a very homely orange reflective vest...Pretty!!! Unfortunately for me, it was raining! It was very nice weather on Tuesday...Oh well! ANYWAY...we then began unloading the pickup trucks & vans that began streaming toward us, and the ladies house who was next to the WM dumpster (she just kept bringing stuff out of her house, garage & backyard!)
We quickly filled one 60 yard dumpster when we began to drive through the neighborhood in a caravan. A pick-up, a pick-up with a large trailer, & then an unmarked police car carrying more guys to do the heavy lifting! I rode in the one with the trailer. The driver's name was Duane and he was a Citizen on Patrol Volunteer. A very nice guy who partners with his wife to go out and do the hard job of telling people that they can't park vehicles in their front yards, and tag abandoned cars in our city!
By the end of the day we had filled two 60 yd dumps of just general garbage, 2/3 of a truck with e-waste. One dumpster just of metal and one large enclosed trailer of furniture,,,plus a large trailer of bicycles! Then we got a call from 2 people in the neighborhood who needed help removing their junk, so we also had a trailer and 2 pick-up trucks filled....
Let me just say that I was a tired girl by the end of the day (2:30 pm!), but I was very happy to have participated! I got to meet some great people who just wanted to make Anderson a better place to live!
