Almost there!

Tomorrow is the day we have been working and waiting for...It has been a long year.
I know that whatever happens, win or lose...God is in control and he knows what is best for us.
I (with help from Molly) have been cleaning the house to get ready for the election night celebration. I am sure that many people will come by to give Les their support...and hopefully, congratulations! I will be glade to see the end of it because it has consumed much of our existence for way too long. It will be good to get back to the normal craziness of our lives! There are so many things I could say about the friends and family who have shown their support for Les! The best I can say is Thank You for everything! You have been wonderful!

Really? It's only Tuesday?

Wow, about an hour ago I was thinking that tomorrow was Friday! Then, I realized it was only Tuesday afternoon!!! Life is very busy right now. I told Les that we could have his Election Celebration at our house...I told Kim I wasn't going to go crazy cleaning the house...and have proceeded to do just that! It kind of snowballed and is now out of my control, really!!! First, I went upstairs and realized I had not cleaned up there when the kids had been here last time! Stripped the beds, decided to go through one closet and get rid of some stuff...then another closet and then a trunk...till the whole upstairs was like a bomb exploded up there!!! So, I put stuff in bags for the church yardsale...bags and bags of garbage to go downstairs...then suddenly it was decided that Molly was going to come for an extended visit...Les came and helped me clear a path and took several trips downstairs for me! Then he left to go and pick her up! I was able to get the one room clean and the big room was still pretty bad...
On Sunday after church Molly & I finished the upstairs mostly and then we got the call to go and help my parents harvest their walnuts. We had had a huge wind and rain storm the night before and after almost 6 inches of rain and 35 mile an hour gusts which shook their trees. We worked for several hours and didn't get as much as we needed done but made some progress!
Monday, we had to clean the entry way because it was full of yard sale stuff and bags of garbage from upstairs!!! We washed woodwork, dusted everything and then went to give Riley her birthday presents and go have dinner with the Faires family!!!
Today, we left the house at 8:45 and took Daisy to get groomed, picked Riley up at school and took her to Simpson College for her volleyball tournament, bought hardware needed for upstairs, took stuff from upstairs for yard sale to church storage, got gas, new windshield wipers, bought Molly a new jacket...came home answered phone calls while Molly did her school work, cooked us some dinner! Realized it was only Tuesday!!!
Tomorrow we may go and help the parents with the walnuts again! Molly doesn't know this yet!!! If not there are more rooms that need cleaning for the party!!! Piano to practice, tree branches to be cleaned up out of the yard, gutters to clean....the fun never ends!!!

A new view on blogging!

Okay...I think I have a new prospective on blogging!
I previously felt that to blog I needed to have pictures and a great story to go with them...am I the only one who feels this way? But now I am realizing that this is just a modern day way of journaling our lives! My best friend Kim does an amazing blog and is close to 5oo entrys! She always has something fun to read! My daughters do great blogs about the grandkids and stuff going on in their lives! My son loves to do blogs that are mind bending and make you wonder "what in the world"!!!My future daughter-in-law is a very talented art teacher and I love to read about what she is doing with her students and the fun that She and Matt are having in their lives!
When I received all of my Aunt Marie's pictures and more, I discovered 3 journals written by my relatives! My cousin Scott who is into family genealogy remembered that he had a journal written by my Great Grandfather and he emailed it to me! It was in three installments and I have LOVED getting to know him before he met and married my Great Grandmother! He had died before I was born so I never met him! My Great Grandmother wrote a journal as they drove from Rapid City South Dakota to Philadelphia Pennsylvania in December of 1925.
My Aunt Marie wrote a journal that started in the 40's and ended in the 70's. It was fun to read her views of our family times!!! We haven't figured out who wrote one of the journals so that is a mystery waiting to be unraveled! I am enjoying reading all of these....
All of this to say that I will probably be blogging more and not worrying about adding pictures to them! I am not very good about being able to remember how to add the pics so this could be freeing!!! (I do think that pics make it more interesting).
So here is to modern day journaling!!!!

Pictures...

I have boxes of Aunt Marie's Pictures at my house...makes me wonder about my photo albums.
How many of the pictures that I have put in my albums are going to be of interest to my family when I am gone? It is an honest question because I know that there are many of the albums that Aunt Marie put together will never be appreciated by her descendants...Something to consider from now on as I work on and store my memories!

They are growing up way too fast!

It is April 28th...Molly's 16th birthday....where has the time gone? It doesn't seem possible that the years have past!
We have had 3 of the 7 grandkids birthdays for 2010 already.
Lydia turned 8 on January 10th...she is an amazing little girl who loves books, ballet, classical music, gymnastics and can do a split that just hurts watching her do it!!! She can make the craziest faces!
Desmond had his first birthday on April 17th, we went to Sacramento to celebrate and had a fun day in the park & just watching the kids play together! He is a sweet little (not really too little!) guy who is loved by his sisters to the enth degree!!! He started walking and is into everything he can get into! He has swallowed several interesting items...a bracelet is one! He loves to push buttons on the electronics. He is a joy to be with!!!
Today is Molly's birthday...She is an amazing and sweet girl who loves to give her mom heck and then turn around and be loving and considerate! A typical teenage girl in so many ways! A dancer, photographer, loves her siblings and is also annoyed by them!
Becoming a grandparent is something you can't control but it is the best job I have ever had!
Molly being the first grandchild has been the one who I have got to do a lot of experimenting on! Because she was the first, we have spent tons of one on one time with her and I wouldn't trade one minute of it! It is amazing to see your own kids turn into adults and parents and be so very proud of them and the skill that they show in parenting!
Happy Birthday Molly!
We gave Molly her gifts at Desmond's party...no park parties when you are 16!
